Six Empire 8 teams and 52 Student-Athletes Earn 2025 IWLCA All-Academic Honors

Six Empire 8 women's lacrosse teams were named to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad, while 52 student-athletes garnered IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll accolades for their hard work in the classroom.

The IWLCA named 382 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. Empire 8 institutions Alfred University, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Geneseo, Hartwick College, Nazareth University and St. John Fisher University earned this prestigious team honor.

In addition, 1,284 student-athletes from 201 different institutions were named to the 2025 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

St. John Fisher University led all Empire 8 programs with 15 student-athletes honored. Nazareth University was right behind with 11 student-athletes honored, while Hartwick College and SUNY Geneseo had six, Alfred University and Keuka College had four while Russell Sage College and SUNY Brockport had three.
