SUNY Geneseo Looking for Second Straight Women's Cross Country Championship as 2025 Season Gets Underway

SUNY Geneseo will look for their second straight Empire 8 Championship, as the 2025 season gets underway on Aug. 29. The Empire 8 Championship will take place at the St. John Fisher Cross Country Course, hosted by St. John Fisher University on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 12 p.m.

Fans can watch the action all season long, free of charge on the Empire 8 Network.

2025 Empire 8 Men's Cross Country Players to Watch

Alfred University - Head Coach Matt Phillips
Alivia Kocan, So., Hornell, NY/Arkport - Kocan placed 60th overall at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She was the second Saxon to cross the finish line and will be expected to build off her 2024 success in 2025.

Zoe Rainville, Jr., Saranac, NY/Saranac - Rainville placed 101st overall at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She will be a key contributor for the Saxons this season. 


SUNY Brockport - Head Coach John Davis 
Sierra Basco, Gr., Albany, NY/Shaker - Basco placed 21st overall at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. Her finish earned her third team All-Conference accolades. 

Ethne Degan, So, Bainbridge, NY/Bainbridge Guildford - At the 2024 Niagara Regional Championship, Degan placed 61st overall. She will be looked at to continue to improve and be a main contributor in 2025.


SUNY Geneseo - Head Coach Dan Moore
Ann Brennan, Sr., Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima - Brennan placed third at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. Her finished earned her first team All-Conference accolades. She placed sixth at the Niagara Regional Championship ro earn All-Region accolades. At the National Championship, Brennan finished 108th helping the Knights to finish in the nine spot.

Jillian O'Rourke, Jr., Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park - O'Rourke placed fifth at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship to earn first team All-Conference honors. She competed at the Niagara Regional where she placed 13th to earn All-Region accolades. She wrapped up her season with a 173rd place finish at the National Championship.


Hartwick College - Head Coach Nathan Crews
Brynita Haas, Sr., Red Creek, NY/Red Creek - Haas, a three-time E8 Player to Watch, placed 55th at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. At the Niagara Regional Championship she placed 97th for Hartwick's top finish at the meet. 

Julia Weinschreider, So., Williamson, NY/Williamson - Weinschreider was the second Hawk to cross the finish line at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She placed 68th and will continue to be a contributor in 2025.


Houghton University - Head Coach Patrick Hager
Noelle Linenfelser, Sr., Grand Island, NY/Grand Island - Linenfelser, the 2023 Empire 8 Runner of the Year and first team All-Conference selection, placed sixth at the 2024 E8 Championship to garner her first team All-Conferene accolades. At the Niagara Regional Championship, Linenfelser placed 14th, giving her her second All-Region nod. She advanced to the NCAA National Championship race for the first time and finished 213th overall.

Emberlynn Nolt, So., Dalton, OH/Dalton - In her debut season, Nolt placed 43rd at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship and followed that up with an 80th place finish at the Niagara Regional Championship.


Keuka College - Head Coach Ryan Johnson
Laura Barrett, Sr., Fuquay-Varina, NC/Southern Wake Academy - Barrett placed 123rd at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She will be looked at the be a top-finisher for the Wolves in 2025. 

Christina Curtis, So., Renssleaer, NY/Rensselaer - Curtis was the first of the Wolves to cross the finish line at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. 


Nazareth University - Head Coach Mike Heymann
Kelsey Fahy, Jr., Victor, NY/Victor - Fahy placed 19th at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship to earn All-E8 third team accolades. She was the second runner from Nazareth to cross the finish line. She also placed 41st at the Niagara Regional Championship.

Ella Impaglia, Sr., Gouverneur, NY/Gouverner - Impaglia, a two-time E8 Player to Watch, placed 13th at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. He finish earned her second team All-Conference accolades. At the Niagara Regional Championship she placed 26th to garner All-Region honors. In the 2023 season, Impaglia was a first team selection. 


Russell Sage College - Head Coach Regan Grube
Charisma Losee, Sr., Troy, NY/Lansingburgh - Losee, a two-time E8 Player to Watch, was the first Gator to cross the finish line at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She placed 87th. 

St. John Fisher University - Head Coach Mike Henchen
Olivia Grinnell, Sr., Elmira, NY/Corning/Painted Post - In 2023, Grinnell was a third team All-Conference member. In 2024, she placed 15th at the Empire 8 Championship, putting her on the All-E8 second team. At the Niagara Regional Championship, Grinnell placed 35th to garner All-Region accolades.

Caitlin Voloshen, Sr., Bethlehem, PA,/Nazareth Area - Voloshen is a two-time second team All-Conference member. In the 2024 Empire 8 Championship she placed 11th. At the Niagara Regional Championship she placed 36th. 


Utica University - Head Coach Sam Catterson
Catherine Manna, So., Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro - Manna placed 17th overall at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She earned second team All-Conference for her finish. At the Niagaral Regional Championship she placed 31st where she earned an All-Region nod. 

Marlo Townsend, So., Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy - Townsend placed 18th overall at the 2024 Empire 8 Championship. She earned second team All-Conference for her finish. At the Niagara Regional Championship she placed 34th, where she earned All-Region accolades.
