Hunter Cupp, a senior faceoff specialist on the Alfred University men's lacrosse team, was named to the USILA Division III Men's Lacrosse Team of the Week for games ending March 1, 2026. It is his first prestigious weekly honor.
Cupp, a native of Bath, NY, put up an 84.3 percent faceoff percentage (43-of-51), 31 ground balls, 1 goal, 2 assists. Cupp was sensational in two road wins for Alfred last week, winning 43-of-51 faceoffs (84.3 percent) and grabbing 31 ground balls. He went 23-for-25 on draws with 12 grounders against Alfred State, then was 20-for-26 on draws while picking up 19 ground balls on Saturday at SUNY Morrisville.
Cupp leads the Empire 8 with an .811 faceoff percentage going 60-for-74. Alfred is back in action on Saturday at SUNY Oswego at 1 p.m.
