ALBANY, NY – Russell Sage College women's soccer team hosted the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College on Saturday afternoon in the two teams' Empire 8 opener. The Gators posted a 2-0 win to improve to 2-3-1 overall and get an early Empire 8 conference lead with a 1-0 record. Elmira drops to 2-4 and 0-1 in the league.

With the win, RSC's head women's soccer coach Garrett Cobb (Seventh Season) earned his 50th career win as the coach of the squad. He ranks second among all-time wins at Sage behind Barry Balkwell's 79 wins (2002-2011).

She improves to 1-0 in goal this year, while appearing in 23 matches as a Gator with 127 career saves and 2.4 career shutouts. She owns a 1.70 goals against average and in a tie for seventh in the RSC career record book.

Elmira's sophomore Nevaeh Winston (Wilson, NY/Mount Saint Mary Academy) made six saves in the contest.

The Gators travel to Western Connecticut State University on September 20 for a 6p.m. non-conference match-up.
