ROCHESTER, NY. – In a battle for the top spot in the Empire 8, Elmira men's soccer traveled to Nazareth to face off against the Golden Flyers for its final regular season road match. After conceding just over two minutes into the first half, Elmira waited until the game's final minutes to net the equalizer on a thunderbolt off the right foot of Jose Navea Corporan '27, securing a point that puts EC second in the Empire 8 with one game remaining in the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Golden Flyers found the game's first goal early when Elmira lost possession in defense and could not stop the Nazareth attacker from finding the bottom-left corner of the net.
- Elmira had a chance in the 34th minute when Kerfalla Toure '26 won a free kick for the Soaring Eagles just outside the penalty area, but the Golden Flyer's wall blocked the effort.
- EC went into the break trailing 1-0 despite outshooting Nazareth 6-4.
- Elmira once again out-shot the Golden Flyers in the second half 7-2 before the equalizer. However, they remained scoreless through 87 minutes.
- With just over two minutes left in the match, Elmira retained possession in the Golden Flyer's half after a free kick from midfield. Martin Harguindey '26 cut to the inside and ran toward the center of the pitch before finding Valentino Aguilera '27. Aguilera laid the ball off to an onrushing Corporan, who put his laces through the ball and blasted it past the Nazareth goalkeeper from well outside the box, giving Elmira the equalizer in the match's waning moments.
- Neither team had enough time to net the winner, and the game ended level at one.
- Elmira out-shot Nazareth 14 to six and seven to two on goal. Corporan led the team with three shots, two of which were on target. Aguilera, Toure and Javier Faci '27 each had two.
