The Houghton men's tennis Ttam snagged its eighth straight win Tuesday afternoon, 9-0 over Medaille University to move to 8-0 in the Empire 8 and 11-6 overall on the year. With the win, Houghton clinches the 2023 Empire 8 Regular Season Championship and will host the four-team Empire 8 Tournament on April 28-29.
Nolan Zach would lead the way four Houghton with an 8-3 win at first doubles, and a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fourth singles. Graham Cook would be the other two time winner on the day with an 8-1 second doubles victory and fifth singles win 6-0, 6-0.
"Great start to a busy week of E8 play," Head Coach Zach Shilvock said after the match. "I am excited for our guys to finish off the regular season strong this weekend!"
The Highlanders will close out their regular season home schedule with Alfred University on Friday at 4pm. This last home match will be Senior Night for Matt Cicero and Adam Brown as well!
