St. John Fisher University looks to earn its third consecutive Empire 8 title, as the 2023-24 Empire 8 men’s golf season is underway. The 36-hole fall portion of the 2023-24 Empire 8 Championship will take place at Cazenovia Country Club in Cazenovia, NY, hosted by Utica University on Oct. 8-9. The 36-hole spring portion of the E8 Championship will be played at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA, with SUNY Oswego serving as host institution on April 14-15, 2024. The 2023-24 Empire 8 Championship receives an automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship, set for May 14-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, NV.
2023-24 Empire 8 Players to Watch (Sorted Alphabetically by Name)
Luke Buckley, St. John Fisher, Sr., Rochester, NY/Irondequoit – Buckley had a strong fall championship during the 2022-23 season. He finished in third spot after the first two rounds and is set to lead the Cardinals this season.
Austin Carpenter, Russell Sage, Sr., Peru, NY/Peru – Carpenter placed 25th at the 2022-23 Empire 8 Championships last season. He earned All-Empire 8 third team accolades in 2021-22.
Nicholas Domitrovic, Elmira, Sr., Ottawa, Ontario/Pierre-Savard – Domitrovic was the top finisher for Elmira last season placing 15th. An E8 Player to Watch for the second consecutive year, Domitrovic garnered All-Empire 8 third team honors in both 2021-22 and 2022-23.
Thomas McIntosh, Nazareth, Sr., Chittenango, NY/Chittenango – McIntosh, a two-time Empire 8 Player to Watch, will continue to be counted on to lead the Golden Flyers on and off the course in 2023-24. He placed 24th overall at the 2022-23 E8 Championship.
Jake Owens, Oswego, Jr., Greenwich, NY/Greenwich – Owens finished fifth overall at the 2022-23 Empire 8 Championships, earning him an All-E8 first team nod for the second time. He was the leader for the Lakers in the spring championships, helping them earn a second place team finish.
Ryan Sisco, Keuka, Sr., Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse – Sisco was Keuka’s top finisher at both the 2021-22 Empire 8 Championship, and the 2022-23 fall championship. Sisco is also a two-time E8 Player to Watch who will serve a leader for the wolves this season.
Adam Woodmansee, Utica, Sr., Brewerton, NY/Central Square – Woodmansee, a two-time Empire 8 Player to Watch, earned All-Empire 8 second team honors last season and first team honors in 2021-22.

St. John Fisher
St. John Fisher will look to win its 19th Empire 8 title this season. Several golfers will compete for All-Empire 8 accolades, led by senior Luke Buckley. Bryce Barber returns after becoming the first student-athlete in Empire 8 men’s golf history to sweep Player and Rookie of the Year honors in the same season in 2021-22 and earned a second team nod in 2022-23. RJ Juodatis and Nick Tellone return after garnering All-E8 second team honors in 2021-22 and first team accolades in 2022-23.
SUNY Oswego
SUNY Oswego will look to vault to the top of the Empire 8 leaderboard this season after placing second the past two seasons. Despite the loss of four-time All-E8 first team selection, Ryan Fecco, the Lakers will look to Jake Owens to lead the way. Owens finished fifth overall at the 2022-23 Empire 8 Championship and is a two-time All-E8 first team recipient. The Lakers will be returning Tyler Donohue, a 2022-23 third team pick, and Edward Shanahan as top players.
Utica
Utica will look to win its second E8 title in four seasons as the 2023-24 year gets underway. Adam Woodmansee returns, looking to earn All-Empire 8 honors for a fourth straight season. He was a second team pick in Spring 2021 and 2023 and garnered first team accolades in 2022 after placing fifth overall. The Pioneers will also return Carter Lathrop, another 2022-23 first team selection, along with Nathan Macdonald and Neil Roman. The squad will add Phoenix and Aydin Parekh as exciting newcomers to watch.
Russell Sage
Russell Sage will look to improve off its fifth-place finish last year at the E8 Championship. Senior Austin Carpenter is back after earning All-Empire 8 third team honors in 2021-22 and placing 25th in the championship this past season. Shane Kammerman, a 2022-23 All-E8 third team pick, will be returning along with Elijah Waterhouse. Ryan Arp and Dylan Dzoik will be excellent additions to the team.
Elmira
The Soaring Eagles look to climb the Empire 8 leaderboard in 2023-24. They will return veteran Nicholas Domitrovic, a two-time All-E8 third team pick. Shane Haviland, Jack Finnerty and Chance Gorman are all top returners as well. Jaden Condotta is a top newcomer who is expected to make an impact early on.
Nazareth
With new head coach Jake Burgio at the helm, the Golden Flyers are ready to make a run towards the upper tier of the E8 standings in 2023-24. Senior Thomas McIntosh will be counted on to lead the Golden Flyers on and off the course in 2022-23. He placed 24th overall at the 2022-23 E8 Championship. Junior Vincent Falgiatano will be another returner expected to lead the team. Nazareth will add two-sport athlete Lincoln Crosby and Saint Vincent College transfer, Colin Rider, as key pieces to the squad.
Keuka
Keuka is expecting to improve in the standings as the 2023-24 season gets underway. Senior Ryan Sisco will lead the way after being the top-finisher for the Wolves in the past two championships. Seniors Hunter Bastian and Ethan Drinon along with junior Keegan Barry are set to be top returners. The team will add Dawson Miletich and Nathan Gillette to complete their roster.
