SUNY Canton holds the team lead after day one of the 2025-26 Empire 8 Fall Men’s Golf Championship, held at Teugega Country Club in Rome, NY on Sunday, Oct. 12. The Roos hold a three-stroke lead over Russell Sage College, while Nazareth University is third overall, just five shots back of the lead and three-time defending champion St. John Fisher is fourth.
Kahontiio Lazore of SUNY Canton and
Jack Doran of St. John Fisher are tied for the individual lead after day one, both carding identical three-over-par scores of 73. The duo is one-shot ahead of
Raine Rumble of Canton and
Luke Finlan of Russell Sage.
Day two gets underway on Monday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. This weekend marks the first half of the 2025-26 championship, with the 36-hole spring portion of the E8 Championship scheduled for April 2026 at Lebanon Valley Country Club. The team with the lowest score at the conclusion of the four rounds will be crowned league champion.
The 2025-26 Empire 8 Champion receives an automatic berth into the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship, set for May 12-15 at Mission Resort Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, FL.
