NORTHFIELD, VT - Thomas College Men's Tennis earned a 5-2 win at Norwich University on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. With the win, the Terriers clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the Empire 8 Eastern Division and will host the semifinals and championship of the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championship Tournament on May 1-2, 2026.
How it Happened:
- The day started with Casey Duncan and Thai Nguyen at #1 doubles, earning a 6-3 win.
- Camden Herrick and Dominic Clifford followed up with a 6-0 sweep, giving the Terriers the advantage.
- Ricky Salazar and Calvin Cutler at #3 doubles earned a 6-1 win, giving the Terriers a 1-0 overall match lead.
- Nguyen was put to the test at #1 singles, eventually falling 6-1, 2-6, 4-6.
- Clifford at the #2 spot was able to squeak out a 6-4, 7-5 win to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Terriers.
- At #3 singles Herrick earned a dominant 6-3, 6-0 win.
- Cutler at the #4 spot was also put to the test, falling 7-5, 4-6, 5-7.
- Duncan followed up with another hard-fought win, winning 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.
- Lastly, at #6 singles Noah Cook earned a 6-0, 6-3 win, wrapping up a 5-2 overall win for the Terriers.
What's Next:
- Men's Tennis will be back in action on Sunday, April 19th, when they travel to MIT to take on the Lesley University Lynx in a doubleheader. Start times are scheduled for 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
