PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Raine Rumble, SUNY Canton, Fr., Gouverneur, NY/Gouverneur
Rumble
was the low scorer at the spring portion of the 2025-26 Empire 8 Conference Championships, held at Lebanon Country Club in Lebanon, PA on Sunday, April 19 and Monday, April 20. Rumble, who finished day one at plus-8, carded a plus-5 score of 77 on Monday to finish with 157 strokes, one stroke ahead of four-round league champion Colin Patterson of St. John Fisher and Jackson Vattar of Russell Sage. Coupled with the fall championship scores, Rumble finished the 2025-26 Empire 8 Championship third overall (310 strokes). It is Rumble's second E8 weekly honor of the 2025-26 season.
WOMEN’S GOLF
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Emma Sweazy, St. John Fisher, Fr., Rush, NY/Rush-Henrietta
Sweazy finished tied for second overall and tied for first among Empire 8 student-athletes at the 2026 Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship, held at Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, NY on April 19-20. She carded a 163 (plus-19) over the two day tournament, helping lead St. John Fisher to runner-up honors. Sweazy shot an 82 on Sunday and an 81 Monday. It is Sweazy's fourth E8 weekly honor of the 2025-26 season.
CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Bethany Wineburg, Nazareth, So., Homer, NY/Homer
Wineburg finished tied for second overall and tied for first among Empire 8 student-athletes at the 2026 Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championship, held at Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, NY on April 19-20. She carded a 163 (plus-19) over the two day tournament, helping lead Nazareth to fourth place. Wineburg shot an 83 on Sunday and an 80 Monday, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 17th hole on the final day of competition. It is Wineburg's third E8 weekly honor of the 2025-26 season.
