PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Raine Rumble, SUNY Canton, So., Gouverneur, NY/Gouverneur
Rumble had a monster week over three rounds for the Roos last week winning one tournament and finishing second in another. The reigning Empire 8 Men’s Golfer of the Week tied for second individually out of 51 golfers at the SUNY Canton Invitational on Tuesday shooting an even par 72. He shot three under (33) on the front nine with three birdies and six pars. Meanwhile, he went three over on the back with six pars as he finished just one shot back of earning medalist honors. Rumble followed that up by earning medalist honors out of 35 golfers at the Utica Fall Invitational at Yahnundasis Golf Club on Sunday and Monday. He shot a round of 71 (E) in the first round going out in 34 (-2) and came home in 37 (+2) as he recorded four birdies and 11 pars on his round. He backed that up by shooting a 76 (+5) on Monday going out in 39 and coming home in 37 recording a birdie and 12 pars on the day. Rumble won the event with a 147 by two strokes edging out Nazareth’s Lincoln Crosby and Utica’s Aydin Parekh by two strokes (149). This is Rumble's second consecutive Player of the Week Honor.
WOMEN’S GOLF
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Emily Mayer, Nazareth, So., Salzburg, Austria/International GED
Emily Mayer took home the first individual event win of her young collegiate career at the Utica Fall Invite. She earned her first place finish with a two-day score of +19. On Monday, she secured the win with birdies on the eighth and eighteenth holes and eight pars, shooting an 83 (+10). This is Mayer's second consecutive Player of the Week Honor.
