The 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships kicked off on Thursday, May 21 at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Empire 8 student-athletes began the meet in fine fashion, headlined by a First Team All-American honor from Isabel Morse of Nazareth University.

Morse recorded a fifth-place finish in the pole vault to earn All-American accolades, recording a career-best vault of 4.00 meters (13’ 1.5”). She was previously a Second Team All-American in 2025. Morse cleared both 3.60 meters and 3.75 meters on her first attempt and cleared 3.85 meters on her second attempt. She recorded a career-best vault of 3.95 meters on her third attempt at that height and surpassed 4.00 meters for the first time, also on her final attempt.

Mackenzie Kubat of SUNY Geneseo and Samantha Luba of Nazareth are in All-American contention in the heptathlon, as Kubat is currently fourth after the first four events and Luba is tenth.

On the men’s side, SUNY Geneseo standout Ryan Hagan won his preliminary heat of the 1,500-meters in a time of 3:46.18  and will compete for a national title in the event on Saturday afternoon.

SUNY Brockport senior Gabriel Giannini is the leader in the decathlon at the halfway mark with 3,806 points. He was second in both the 100-meters and long jump on Thursday and will wrap up with the final five events on Friday, looking to win a national title.

Geneseo’s 4 x 400-meter relay team of Arjun Ojha, Andrew Kent, Gian Carlo Di Fava and Jacob Miller won its preliminary heat and have the second-best time overall at 3:10.43. They will race for the national title on Saturday evening.

Sam Belmont of Geneseo placed sixth in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles, while Emerson Comer and Pierce Young qualified for the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
