Ryan Hagan, SUNY Geneseo 4 x 400-Meter Relay Team Win National Titles to Wrap up 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Men's Outdoor Track and Field | 5/23/2026 6:32:06 PM

Ryan Hagan of SUNY Geneseo (1,500-meters) and the Knights 4 x 400-meter relay team of Arjun Ojha, Gian Carlo Di Fava, Sam Belmont and Jacob Miller won national championships to wrap up the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Saturday, May 23 at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

In the 1,500-meters, Hagan used a seismic burst with just over 200 meters remaining, rallying from sixth to take the lead and pull away around the final turn and 100 meters to win by just over a second in a time of 3:44.29. He becomes the Empire 8’s first men’s outdoor national champion since Kyle Rollins of St. John Fisher University won the high jump.

Hagan just missed earning a second national championship, just under 90 minutes later in the 800-meters, as he made another strong rally late to place second overall in a time of 1:49.11 to earn First Team All-American honors.

The Knights ended the day with aplomb, as Ojha, Di Fava, Belmont and Miller ran one of the fastest times in Division III history, shattering their own Empire 8 record to win the 4 x 400-meter relay by 58 one-hundredths of a second in a time of 3:07.62. The 4 x 400-meter relay team also won the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track and Field national championship.

Belmont of SUNY Geneseo had a standout Saturday, as he earned national runner-up honors in the 400-meter hurdles, using a late push to record a personal-best time of 51.77 seconds.

Overall, SUNY Geneseo’s men placed fourth overall in the team standings with 39 points. SUNY Brockport scored three team points, while Nazareth had one team point.

On Friday, SUNY Brockport senior Gabe Giannini set an Empire 8 record in the decathlon, finishing sixth overall with 6,797 points to earn First Team All-American accolades. The SUNY Geneseo duo of Pierce Young and Emerson Comer placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final to garner First Team All-American honors. Nazareth sophomore Graeden Heichberger placed eighth overall in the shot put to garner his first First Team All-American accolade.

On the women’s side, SUNY Geneseo sophomore Dakota Limbert placed seventh overall in the 800-meters in a personal best time of 2:09.16 to earn First Team All-American honors on Saturday.

On Thursday, Nazareth’s Isabel Morse recorded a fifth-place finish in the pole vault to earn First Team All-American accolades, recording a career-best vault of 4.00 meters (13’ 1.5”). Mackenzie Kubat of SUNY Geneseo earned First Team All-American honors in the heptathlon Friday with a score of 4,847 points.
