Connor McCauslin of Nazareth College, Chase Corcoran, Kyle Rollins and Grant Stokoe of St. John Fisher College and Chase Pecoraro and Kyle Swiecki of Utica College earned 2021 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Track and Field All-Atlantic Region honors.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.
McCauslin, a sophomore earned his first All-Region honor after recording the fifth fastest time among all Atlantic Region student-athletes in the 110-meter hurdles, 14.85 seconds at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic on April 23.
Corcoran was a standout in the throws for St. John Fisher this season. The senior earned All-Region accolades after recording the fourth best throw in the discus at 47.14 meters at the Geneseo Roundtable Regional on April 9. He just missed a second All-Region accolade in the hammer throw, finishing sixth in the region. Corcoran was the 2021 Empire 8 Outdoor Champion in both events and earned runner-up honors in the shot put.
Rollins is the not only a regional standout but is the No. 1 national seed in the high jump, having cleared 2.17 meters and is the No. 2 seed in the triple jump, with a leap of 15.45 meters in advance of the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship which will take place this weekend. A six-time All-American during his career, Rollins, a senior, is the defending national champion in the high jump, having won the event at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
This season, Rollins has claimed both the Empire 8 Indoor and Outdoor Championship Field Athlete of the Meet honors. He swept the long, triple and high jump events at both championships. Last week, he won the high jump at the 2021 All-Atlantic Region Championship from the Polisseni Track and Field Complex.
Stokoe earned his first All-Region nod after recording the fourth fastest time in the 800-meters of 1:53.85, set at the Roberts Wesleyan Capstone meet on May 14. The junior enjoyed a breakout season, earning both Empire 8 Indoor and Outdoor Track Athlete of the Meet honors, while winning the 2021 Empire 8 Spring Cross Country Runner of the Meet honor. Stokoe won the 800-meters, 1,500-meters and ran the anchor leg on St. John Fisher’s victorious 4 x 800-meter relay team (8:20.27) at the 2021 E8 Outdoor Championships on May 7-8.
Pecoraro had a throw of 55.05 meters in the javelin at the University of Buffalo Invitational on April 17 to earn All-Region honors with the fifth best performance during the outdoor season. Pecoraro was a two-time individual champion at the 2021 E8 Outdoor Championships on May 7-8, winning both the javelin and pole vault.
Swiecki, a senior, broke the Utica program record in the decathlon with 6,106 points to finish second overall in the event at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championship. That was the second best score among all Atlantic-Region student-athletes. Swiecki’s score was the 27th best in all of Division III this year. Swiecki is now a three-time All-Atlantic Region honoree, having earned indoor honors in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
