Eight Empire 8 Student-Athletes Earn 2023 USTFCCCA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field All-Region Honors

Eight Empire 8 student-athletes from five institutions earned 2023 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Region honors.

Malachi Yeager from Houghton University, Cade Eells and Kaleb Luton from Nazareth College, John Coddington from Russell Sage College, Sean Cochrane from St. John Fisher University, along with Hunter Logan, Billie Mays III and Justin Swavely from Utica University garnered the prestigious honor.
 
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.

All Empire 8 institutions with the exception of Russell Sage compete in the NIagara region. Russell Sage is part of the Midweast Region.

Malachi Yeager, Senior -- Decathlon, 5,792 points - fourth

NAZARETH COLLEGE
Cade Eells, Sophomore -- 3,000-Meter Steeplechase, 9:15.23 - third
Kaleb Luton, Senior -- 100-Meter Hurdles, 14.73 - fourth

RUSSELL SAGE COLLEGE
John Coddington, Senior -- Shot Put, 15.26 meters - second (Mideast Region)

ST. JOHN FISHER UNIVERSITY
Sean Cochrane, Junior -- High Jump, 2.01 meters - second

UTICA UNIVERSITY
* Hunter Logan, Junior -- Shot Put, 15.30 meters - fifth
Bille Mays III, Junior -- Shot Put, 16.72 meters - first
* Justin Swavely, Junior -- Javelin, 61.73 meters - first

* Qualified for 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships
