Twelve Empire 8 student-athletes from three institutions earned 2024 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-Region honors.
Cade Eells, Kaleb Luton, Connor McCauslin and Jack Pomykaj from Nazareth University, Sean Cochrane, Brandon Kaplan and Hayden Penna from St. John Fisher University, along with Andy Hadasz, Hunter Logan, Kaiden McCaskill, Bennett Melita and Justin Swavely from Utica University garnered the prestigious honor.
Luton, Logan and Swavely are now three-time All-Region selections during the outdoor season, while Cochrane, Eells and McCauslin are two-time selections.
Logan and Swavely are set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.
All Empire 8 institutions with the exception of compete in the Niagara region.

Brandon Kaplan, Sophomore -- Hammer Throw, 55.82 meters - fourth
Hayden Penna, Freshman -- Pole Vault, 4.63 meters - fourth

Andy Hadasz, Junior -- 100-Meter Dash, 10.76 seconds - tied for fourth
Andy Hadasz, Junior -- 200-Meter Dash, 21.36 seconds - first
